If you’re in Hilo, it’s worth your time to visit Mauna
Loa Nut Visitor Center – the home of the "Hawaii nut,"
world-famous Mauna Loa macadamia nuts. There's lots to see, taste,
learn and discover at the Visitor Center. After driving through
their plantation, you'll see Nut Processing Plant, sample their
delicious products, shop in the Gift Shop, and much more. In addition
to some very tasty macadamia chocolates, you can try some delicious
macadamia nut ice cream or even sip some awesome Kona Coffee –
it’s a real treat!
Directions:
From Hilo, take Highway 11 south about 5 miles, and turn left on
Macadamia Rd. If coming from Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, take
Highway 11 north about 20 miles and turn right on Macadamia Rd.
Just go all the way to the end of Macadamia Rd. and you'll find
the Mauna Loa Nut Visitor Center.

The Gift Shop, Snack Bar and Tour are open 7 days a week, 8:30am
to 5:30pm (longer when your cruise ship is in).
