(Oahu)
This heiau, a Hawaiian temple, is located in Pupukea on the North
Shore of Oahu and was dedicated to many gods. It is Oahu’s
largest heiau, covering two acres, and overlooks Waimea Valley.
The heiau was utilized until 1819, when this traditional religion
was abolished at the hands of the Hawaiians themselves.
The heiau is accessible from Kamehameha Highway via Pupukea Homestead
Road (traveling north on Kamehameha Hwy., you turn at the 2nd right
after Waimea Bay.)
