This value attraction was founded in 1889 by Charles Reed Bishop
in honor of his late wife Princess Bernice Pauahi Bishop, the last
descendant of the royal Kamehameha family. The museum is Hawaii’s
largest and has approximately 25 million items. It is world renowned
for its cultural and historical focus of Hawaiiana and Polynesia.
There is more value than you can possibly see in one day, but try
to see as much as you can because it’s all about Hawaii’s
cultural past and present.
